Met Jake, Nate, Fritz and Rob at HHS for a long run. Ran through Tanner Park up Wasatch and about 1/2 mile past Ruth's. Then turned around and did a Josh MP tempo. 10.1 to 17.1 was 39:48 or about a 5:41 pace with a drop of almost 800 ft. I felt really good until the sugarhouse hill and then I was done. Cooled down about 4 a lot of it around the highland track.

Absolutely perfect weather and I could not be more grateful for the partners willing to run pace with me.

You didn't join Jake for that last 4:59 mile on the track?

Nice run. You're looking strong.

Great LR. Love that route. Good tempo. You excited for 6 weeks from now?!:)

42 days till show time....Judging by you long run today, you are certainly getting ready for a PR at the Big Show!!!! What time are you shooting for?

Thanks guys.

Tom - A PR would be good accomplishment given my current pr was at St George last year. That was 2:36:41 and the goal is 2:34:59!

Good run this morning. Keep the hip/glute somewhat healthy over these next 6 weeks. You need 2-3 more quality long runs like this before Boston and you'll be ready.

Good job. Sub 2:30 is looking possible.

You're the one who knows the adjusted paces, James. My guess is I was slightly slow for a given grade. 2:35 seems plenty daunting right now.

From fiddy on Mon, Mar 10, 2014 at 16:35:27 from 65.130.189.75

800 ft down over 7 miles is only a 2% grade. Best guess is 5:53 per mile flat and you said you felt good. Remember that Boston=sea level+minor downhill. All I'm saying is 2:30 is possible, it could be your A++ goal. 1:17:00 first half 1:12:59 second half.
