Another Emigration out and back. Inserted 6x2 minutes at half marathon effort with 2 minute recoveries. Averaged 5:54 in three intervals going up the canyon and 5:10 coming back down. Slight headwind going down. HR checks were in the 160s so I think the effort was right. A total of 2.2 miles of speed in 5:32 avg. Total of 59:02 or 7:02 pace the run.

Shoes are still fast and still too snug. In addition to my pinky toes getting squished in and numbing a slight bit, I felt some contact on the big toes on the way down and I don't want anything to do with that.

Interesting you should say that about the Fastwtitch. I have run in previous models and have experienced the same issues especially the numbing. Not sure what causes that really. Probably a combination of things. I noticed it mainly running tempos downhill.. Great shoe otherwise except for those issues.

Hi Steve. I think these run a bit small for the size. And I know for me that my wide feet are also a problem. I think I will try 10.5 and see if there is any improvement.

I've run in Fastwich previously and I always had to order half a size bigger. They run small.

I'm 9.5 in almost all shoes, but I need 10 for Fastwich.

There's a great tool on Running Warehouse's website. When you click on a shoe, you can then click on "Show me how it fits". It will ask what shoe and size of that shoe you currently run in and then recommend what size you need for the shoe you're considering to buy.

Here's a link to the Fastwich:

I used that tool plugging in a 9.5 Kinvara. It won't take into account the wide size. Even so, it recommended a 10.5 and I didn't listen. I believe Scott Keate had said he wore the same size Kinvara as Fastwitch and he had a wide Kinvara I think so I just went up half a size.
