10 x 3 minutes hard up and down hills with 60 second rests. 2.5 up 2 down. I got out between two storms and did this in Emigratio nCanyon. The workout ended right as the second storm hit so I had two miles of snow back to my office. Hard workout but not long so I think it was a good second workout for the week.

I barely beat the storm this morning on my workout at the track. Hoped in the shower right when it started coming down. I am wondering if I should have run more hills going into Boston...

It's really not that hilly compared to what we're used to so you won't be at a disadvantage. I have specific ideas about hills I am working on incorporating. No fear running hard downhill; quick turnover right at the top of the hill; comfortable running faster on most usual uphill grades. Nice workout today.

Sounds good. Thanks! I felt like it was a solid track workout. Don't really know what to do the next two weeks as far as my speed workouts/tempos go. Maybe just shorten them up a bit as I taper.

Three week taper? Just do whatever gives you confidence. Most of the gains that can be made now are mental. Maybe try a 3-2-1 at MP next week. That was a good one mentally for me.

Next week is the start of the gradual taper. Still a tough week, but nothing too crazy. What is a 3-2-1?

From Josh E on Thu, Mar 27, 2014 at 16:00:28 from 63.226.66.73

Three at goal marathon pace, half mile jog, two at goal pace, .25 jog, 1 at goal pace. You can also progress on the intervals which is where the confidence building can occur.

Ok cool. I have done a couple 10 milers at marathon pace. Maybe I will do the 3-2-1 on Tuesday and then my tempo on Thursday or Friday.
