Last Yassos. 10x800 with 400 jog rest. McCarthey track, 2 up 1.75 down. Idea was to do 21 seconds per 100 meters.

Splits were 2:43, 2:45, 2:48, 2:45, 2:48, 2:48, 2:48, 2:47, 2:48 and 2:41.

I had to push to get the splits but I never felt labored. I was quite thirsty. I should start bringing water on warmer days like today.

Nice workout Josh! I will look out for you at Ogden. My goal is to break 2:50 - I went 2:55 last year.

We share the same goal. Maybe we can work together to get in a conservative first half.

Sounds like a good plan. I was thinking 1:24ish for the first half.

From Josh E on Thu, May 02, 2013 at 14:22:36 from 205.235.104.4

Me too. My plan is to stay right around 6:25.

Officially something like:

6:10

6:40

6:20

6:25

6:20

6:20

6:20

6:20

6:30

6:25(14th mile pace).

Great workout! I wish I could hang with you at Ogden. I probably could pull off those paces for the first half, but I worry about blowing up. I want to run a 2:55 though.

Nice workout. I think you will do so well in the marathon. I will be watching you pull away from the start. My only advice is, that first mile seems pretty fast. It might be better to run a 6:20 first mile and a 6:30 second. It will be really easy to go out to fast.

From Josh E on Fri, May 03, 2013 at 09:11:02 from 205.235.104.4

Thanks Matt.

I've never run that first mile but it looks like a good drop of 100+ ft. It would be smart to hold back and not let the moment get the best of me. I never follow the script precisely but I generally have an idea of where my pace should be on various grades. The hope is never below 6 and never above 6:50 and 6:2_ showing up on avg.

From Mattrow on Fri, May 03, 2013 at 10:10:00 from 132.3.45.80

Josh, The first mile does have some pretty good drop but it does have one or two small little hills, risers.
