Goal today was 16:24 which was arbitrary but also a good goal for where I am. The process of getting faster is the process of being disappointed with increasingly faster times. The 5:22 I did on Wednesday proved prophetic as that was my pace here. Drove up with Collin to save one car with the bad air. Warmed up 2 and saw a bunch of guys. I thought top 20 was optimistic. My watch went off right before each mile marker. Splits were 5:14, 5:21, 5:26 and :39 for the last .13 on my watch. Sprinted at the end thanks to Andrea and Jake cheering me on. Much appreciated. Tells me I need to go faster a bit sooner. Still a good time and I am glad we had nice weather but I want to do better.  Cooled down 2.

Afterward, I ran to the capitol to do some Boston video with Walter and crew. That ended up being another 5.75 miles for me total. The rally was kind of funny. There was one crazy chick singing this air is your air and trying in vain to get the crowd into it.

Weighed in at 165 today which is a pound lower than St George. Been taking care of myself in 2014.

I transported five people saving four cars. I'm doing my superior dance now.

Fun to see you improving like this Josh.

You are getting quite fast Josh! I love seeing the progress you've made; it's very inspiring.

We also had five in our car!

It was nice to meet you today Josh. Great race! You will only get faster

I am getting car share envy. I have to find more friends.

Good run, and, hah, the rally sucked. That singing was just awful. I'm not sure what that sort of ear-piercing nonsense is supposed to accomplish.

great race today, josh.

this air is your air, no wait it's my air, no wait it's your air, no wait it's my air.

Excellent race, Josh! I love that you are pleased but not satisfied, which tells me you are hungry for more. And, you'll get much more! Keep up the great work.

Speedy!

Thanks for carpooling :)

Great race, Josh! I get excited every time I see somebody start to step up their game like you're doing right now. It simply starts in having the courage to believe you're capable of running faster. Once you accept that possibility, the training starts to fall into place and other resources (friends, coaches, healthy eating information, etc.) just start to show up.

Best wishes to you in 2014!

That was a nice race Josh. I really hate it when you beat me.

Solid race Josh. You will definitely get your goal time before Boston.

Thanks all. It's going to be a fun year. Lots of fast runners around and a lot of them are on the blog.

Great run Josh. You pretty much nailed the race strategy. You are in a very good place right now. Stay hungry!
